McKesson Foundation Donates $10,000 to Angel Flight East
Three McKesson business units (BUs), Sterling Medical Services (part of Medical-Surgical), Health Solutions and Provider Technologies, collaborated on researching potential non-profit grant recipient candidates. A regional foundation committee, comprised of representatives from the three McKesson BUs, visited with grant candidates and solicited employee feedback on organizational candidates for the grant. From that work, the committee identified and recommended the issuance of the McKesson Foundation grant to Angel Flight East.
“Unlike other non-profits who have budgets in the millions, Angel Flight East runs on a small budget, yet they help many people”, said Steven Burch, a Customer Service Associate at Sterling Medical Services and grant committee member. “They have an extraordinary mission, and we are glad to be a part of their future,” Burch said.
Angel Flight East will the grant to support the expansion of AFE's operations in order to initiate additional outreach activities.
Angel Flight East commends The McKesson Foundation and its Business Units for driving the spirit of corporate responsibility and social consciousness in the communities in which they operate.
